The Button

To do less is to be more...

It was so simple.

All I did was push a button.

I was seeking a way to engage more fully and directly in the vivid richness of life, to reduce all my experience to only that which was essential, to be one with all that was around me.

The solution was right in front of me. It was as easy as pushing a button.

I pushed the button, and instantly I had a fuller awareness of the world. I saw more colour and became tuned in to the sounds around me: birds singing, noisy traffic, appliances humming.

I felt myself breathing.

I spent more time talking with people, listened more closely, and my relationships improved. I became aware of my body, lovingly.

I felt alive.

And it was so simple.

All I did was push a button.

All I did was turn the television off.
